Moment to Recoverby Joanna Kovalcsik, Vassar, Michigan, USA Original photo Finished Art Tell Us A Bit About Your Image: This Chipping Sparrow banged into my French doors during a snowstorm. Shocked and frightened, it sat quietly on the deck for a long time before it could fly again. While it was recovering, I quietly opened the door and took several macro shots of this endearing wee bird. I felt honored and delighted when my photo won First Place Gold in Better Photo's February 2018 Photo Contest and was chosen as Photo of the Day on May 10, 2018. What textures/background collections did you use from The Daily Texture to create this art? On this piece, I worked with a texture from Jai Johnson's Immersed in Light Collection. What software did you use in the creation of this art? My workflow utilizes Picasa, PSE9, and a variety of Topa z programs and filters. I prefer to do my masking in photoFXlabs. I can see why Joanna's photo won in the photo contest...this is an excellent artistic presentation of what to others would appear as simply an ordinary moment. Joanna had the creative vision and foresight to turn the photo into art! Thank you, Joanna, for sharing your sweet bird art with my readers! --Jai Comments are closed.
