It's here...my favorite time of year!  Happy October everyone!  Today's Daily Texture is Pumpkin Spice and celebrates the beginning of the wonderful fall season.  Of course I've already created a fabulous package of Autumn Textures for you here, but in my opinion, one can never have enough textures which favor this colorful season!

I used today's texture with -- of course -- some charming pumpkins which adorn the brick steps in front of my home right now.  Is it just me, or are the pumpkins getting more and more artistic each year?  Gone are the days of simple orange pumpkins... :)  

You might be surprised to know I also used this texture with the cow image shown below.  I blended the texture with the cow who was standing in a field.  Something wasn't setting right with me though about the blending...all the blades of golden foliage just weren't mixing to my liking.  Rather than continue to fuss with it, I took the merged image over into Topaz Impression, which I am trying out right now.  I ran the image through a couple of different presets which I had already made, and I saved them all.  Then I layered each final image on top of the other, masking away areas I didn't want to keep.  I adjusted opacity on several of the layers, and also played with a variety of layer modes.  Finally, I layered this Pumpkin Spice texture on top of it all again in soft light layer mode, and masked away some, leaving the rest to gently blend with everything underneath.  And now, I have A Cow In Autumn. :)
