Oh my gosh, I had such fun taking one of my photos of Ripley and turning her into a cute, whimsical painterly image using Topaz Impression and several resources from The Farmhouse Collection! Check out her finished image below, and you can watch the video of the process, too! This project has by far been one of my most enjoyable yet with the new Farmhouse Collection! The video is a bit long {nothing new there!} but I hope you will enjoy it. :) See the completed art below! A customer wrote me and asked if I would mind going over how to set up my Oil Glaze Preset in Topaz Impression 2...so here is a video with instructions, along with a PDF file you can download below. I suggest printing out the PDF file so you can look at it while setting up your preset. Be sure to set "coverage" to 1.00 in the preset - that line was cut off in my screenshots and doesn't show in the PDF file. **Note: I am using Topaz Impression 1 and 2, which I had purchased before Topaz Labs released the new Topaz Studio. Apparently, the only software they offer now is "Impression in Studio". I do not use Topaz Studio at this point, so I have no idea how to set up the preset in that version of the software. I'm sure it's very similar, however the settings panel may look different than they do in my video and PDF.
*textures used with the bison are from the Night Hunter Collection
I'm expanding on my video library and creating a new video series for you guys! Here's some information about the series: "In this video series presented by Jai Johnson, a best-selling, multi-licensed wildlife artist and founder of The Daily Texture, you'll learn various tips, tricks, topics and more which will help you turn your own photos into artistic masterpieces. You'll learn new ways to creatively express yourself. You'll hear advice, gain inspiration, and things you've never even thought of to do with your photographs {even the bad ones!} will come to light. Be sure to sign up for the mailing list to be notified when new episodes are released. We hope you enjoy the journey into Artistry Beyond The Camera!" The first two videos are now available here. Each page features the video, notes, products used, and a close up look at the final art created in the video. I've chosen a number of different topics to discuss, and you get to watch the creation of a work of art while I discuss them. :) I hope they will give you new things to think about in regards to your photography and art, and I hope you'll find useful tidbits of information in each video. --Jai
